It’s been a while since I wrote anything that wasn’t for a client, a strategy doc, or a system audit. I used to blog back in the LiveJournal days - back when it felt like you were writing into a void, but a really friendly one.

This won’t be that.

This is the start of something more intentional.

I work in the bones of business - under the surface, where things either quietly flow or quietly fall apart. My name’s Alexis Goodreau, and I run AG Strategies: a consulting studio that helps founders get their operations, systems, and AI tools aligned with how they actually work. As a small business operations consultant I’ve spent the last decade helping people move smarter - not just with automation, but with clearer decision-making and systems that actually support how they run. Before that, I came up through hospitality and live entertainment - industries where timing, nuance, and invisible labor make or break the whole thing. That’s always been my zone. Now I help other business owners clean up the backend so they can actually scale.

Now I help other business owners move cleaner and smarter. Sometimes that means automation. Sometimes it means better boundaries. Sometimes it means pulling the thread on a problem they didn’t even realize was systemic.

This won’t be a highlight reel. It’s about pulling back the curtain on how things work, how they break, and how to think differently about what we build.

I want to write about the real stuff: how AI is changing the nature of small business. Why operations friction doesn’t show up until it’s already causing damage. What makes a system actually sustainable. Where so many businesses burn out their best people without realizing it.

Some posts will be practical. Some might be more like field notes. But all of it will come from the same place - curiosity, pattern-spotting, and a genuine belief that work doesn’t have to be this hard if we build it with care.

You’ll hear my voice in these posts. Not a “content strategy” version of it. The real one. Curious. Honest. A little nerdy. Hopefully helpful.

Thanks for reading. Let’s see where this goes.
